The recent PBS special titled “Evolution” was on of the most one sided presentations of the “case for evolution” I have ever seen. Not only did they ignore all the scientific evidence that contradicts the evolution model, they also blatantly misrepresented the creationist position. It would that pages and pages to refute all the misinformation but I will give one example of the most incredible bias and false information.
In the segment titled; “What About God” the cited a case in Lafayette, Indiana where a student initiated petition was presented to allow the creation model to be taught along with the evolution model. They admitted that the petition have wide support from both students and “some” teachers yet they never interviewed any of the adults that supported the petition. ONLY the teachers who were opposed to the petition were interviewed. If you listened carefully to the students you realized they were asking for more information in the classroom, not less, yet PBS’ portrayal was that they wanted to ban teaching evolution. This is not a misrepresentation of the creationist position, it is a LIE and they know it. Creationists always want to add more information to the class curriculum not take it away. It is the Evolution position that censors the scientific data.
Throughout all the segments PBS consistently portrayed evolution as the ONLY way to interpret the data. Any thing that could even remotely contradict evolution was censored out.
This is government sponsored censorship at the highest level. Our students are NOT being taught to think they are being programmed to accept only one way of thinking and that is a direct violation of our basic principles of freedom.
